Monday Again

Yesterday was the third Sunday of Advent – the day for the shepherds’ candle. I trust you are enjoying this marvellous season of the year – let’s never lose awareness of the Presence in the midst of the presents.
Rev. Conard Symonds was promoted to glory on Friday of last week. The Celebration Service for him will take place on Wednesday of this week at 2 PM at Crosspoint Wesleyan in Fredericton. Visitation is at the church on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9. Pastors/ministers please check your inbox for an email with further details.

On Tuesday evening last week, Gloria and I were honoured to host a Christmas dinner for our camp staff at Up to Par in Midland. We enjoyed an excellent meal together with Dean and Carol Stephenson, Bruce and Roxie Cheney, Rob and Marti Trafton, and Phillip and Emma Hayes. These folk do great work for which we are all thankful.
Last Sunday there were 23 first time decisions for Christ through the ministries of KV, some of which came to the Master at the KVEast location. Already the multi-site ministry is seeing true Kingdom growth. PTL and onward and upward.
I received a tweet during the week from a lady in the Monctonchurch referring to last Sundays services as real “game changers” for those who accepted Christ.
World Hope Canada has been promoting a Christmas Eve offering for the last few years focusing on their overseas ministry. World Hope is doing great Kingdom work. Check out their video at www.vimeo.com/79209696.

Snowbirds take note. The annual Atlantic Snowbirds Breakfast will take place on Saturday, Feb 1, 2014 at the Country Kitchen in Brooksville at 9 AM.  Gloria and I will be honoured to host this event and all who attend will be guests of our district.  We will be receiving an offering, the proceeds of which will help fund the Jesus Film, the most effective evangelistic tool in the history of Christianity. See many of you there.
Our own Dr. Nancy Nason-Clark  (Fredericton Journey) was recently presented with the Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation award given annually to individuals, groups or organizations that have contributed significantly to the prevention and elimination of family violence in Canada. Nancy is recognized for her work as one of the country’s leading family violence researchers in connection with faith-based organizations. Congratulations Dr. Nason-Clark.
Dr. Lyon present throughout. We met at the Crowne Plaza Lord Beaverbrook Hotel. The agenda was full with special attention given to the DS search/selection process looking toward election at District Conference in July. More detail will be openly provided as the process moves forward.
We enjoyed an evening concert in The Playhouse with Frank Mills of Music Box Dancer fame. As seen above, we closed out our meeting with lunch in the Old York County Court House, specifically in the old holding cell :).
Be in prayer for the DS selection/election process that the Master’s will be both understood and followed in this vital matter.
