Monday Again
The Gathering will take place in Orlando, Florida this week. Some 2000 ministers and spouses are registered with more than 120 from our own district – excellent response. The district was so pleased to financially support ministers and spouses who are appointed to local church ministry. I trust we will have a memory-making, Kingdom impacting experience together.
NOTE: Atlantic and Central Canada reception following the Tuesday night rally in Salon 8.
Our annual Snowbirds Breakfast is also scheduled for this week – Saturday at 9 AM at the Country Kitchen Restaurant in Brooksville. Stephanie Gilmer from World Hope Canada will be our special guest. The breakfast is a gift from the Atlantic District and we will be receiving an offering for the ministries of World Hope. Gloria and I look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday.
The third banner event of the week will be The International Conference of The Wesleyan Church which will bring together delegates from literally dozens of countries representing the global ministries of the Wesleyan Church. One of the significant items before that body will be a resolution concerning the formation of a Canadian Established National Conference of the church. I am pleased to serve as a delegate to these proceedings.
John denHollander Sr passed away last week. John and his family were very committed to and involved in the early church planting days with us at Dartmouth Hillside. John later enter the ministry and served our churches at Lower Brighton and Digby. Since I was in Florida, Denn Guptill, DBA member from NS, graciously consented to represent the district at the funeral.
Connie Stewart has accepted the position of interim pastor at the Truro Heights Baptist Church. This appointment will come effective later in the spring.
Pastors hold this date – March 20-21 – speaker confirmed – you do not want to miss it – in Moncton – March 20-21 – hold the date – details coming.
On a personal note – last week, we had a totally great vacation with the family at Disney World. A memory maker to be sure.
