Monday Again
Yesterday was a celebration of the defining moment of our faith. Many of our churches had amazing and powerful services across the district with the consistent message – He is Risen!
Pastors, please remember to promptly provide your Easter attendance to our office as requested by our General Superintendent.
Major flooding this week in the Sussex area. A number of families from our Sussex church were impacted by flood waters in their homes with serious damage in some cases. Kingswood served as a warming location and provided care to a number of residents. David Alward, the NB Premier, visited Kingswood to express appreciation to President Gorveatte.
Speaking of Sussex, congrats to Don Ingersoll who received a near-unanimous vote at a meeting held on Tuesday evening for the Lead Pastor position at Sussex Wesleyan. He has accepted.
Debbie Rideout’s funeral was held on Wednesday at the church in Blacks Harbour. More than 40 of our ministerial tribe were present to support Jasper – a great response. Some of the guys travelled as much as 11 hours round trip to be present. So proud of deep tribal support.
I look forward to seeing many of the NS pastors this week at New Hope Valley. Will be a great day, beginning at 10 am.
We are all thankful that Dave LeRoy successfully underwent a stem cell transplant in Halifax last week. He is in hospital in isolation presently. Thanks for continuing to support the LeRoys in prayer. You may also send a card/note to him/them at 240 Rennick Road, Moncton, NB E1G 4X9.
Pastors, you will be receiving year end memos from our office this week. Very important that you read and heed this stuff – thanks in advance.
Brazil Lake will be celebrating their 125th anniversary this coming weekend. Activities include an old time hymn sing and testimony meeting at 1 PM on Saturday with an Emmaus Road concert at 7 PM. I will be honoured to speak in the Sunday morning service and the day will wrap up with a lunch in the Fellowship Hall. Pastor Amy Corey extends a welcome to all.
Lead Pastor Matt Maxwell at Fredericton Journey says “The Spirit of God has simply been electric. God is actively drawing His people to Himself!” They have recently started a new service – Fuel – designed for youth, young adults and the young at heart. In the past few weeks, 7 people have come to the Lord. PTL!
Gloria and I spent Friday and Saturday at the cottage at Beulah. The river is very high with heavy ice flows. I also met with the Browns Flat Fellowship Advisory Committee. Yesterday, we worshipped at Moncton and enjoyed the ministry of Dr. Craig Evans from Acadia Divinity School.
Another record week for IMA last week – most opens ever. Keep reading:)
