Monday Again
We are the People of God committed to the Purpose of God believing in the Promises of God and relying on the Power of God.
Hillside Rally Unite was a blast! Over 100 students attended. They participated in workshops that taught a variety of skills and served the local communities of Cole Harbour, Dartmouth and Halifax. – Michael Fearnley, Pastor of Student Ministries.
Office renos are ongoing and this week will see the temporary activity and connection restrictions I mentioned last week. Bell Aliant will be on site today to work on phone and internet lines and I expect limited connectivity will result. Carpet installation is also expected early in the week – so we will be a bit off balance this week. Thanks for your patience. Cell phones, email and twitter will be up and running.
Charles Bain and Tim Long resigned at Havelock, NS yesterday effective at Beulah time. They both have served with excellence during this season and I deeply appreciate their willingness to serve Christ and the church for this conference year.
Our GS Dr. Lyon was recently in Japan for the Annual Conference there. Our own Robin White was in attendance along with other missionaries, complete with their chopsticks. The Wesleyan Church has a long and strong shared ministry with Immanuel General Mission in Japan.
I chaired a Local Church Conference in Moncton yesterday convened for the purpose of voting on Lead Pastor Tim Guptill who is completing his initial two-year term there. The church gave him a strong extended call which he accepted.
Fredericton Crosspoint gave a strong extended call to their Lead Pastor Mark Brewer who is also completing his initial term in the Lead Pastor role. They voted following the morning services yesterday and Pastor Mark accepted their call.
Church Income Management Systems have a link that provides access to a free demo donor management program that may be of interest to pastors/treasurers. Check it out at easychurchsoftware.com.
I attended the Sticky Faith seminar at KU last week that was led by Matt Deprez, a KU alum and Wesleyan staff pastor in Michigan. It was excellent material well presented. Check out the Kingswood website for the Sticky Faith Seminar Recordings.
