Monday Again
Our regular readers will recall an item a few weeks ago about the church in Tiddville, NS that the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) “sold” to us for $1.00. Peter was there yesterday to install Tim Long as pastor. Tim also serves as supply pastor at the Baptist Church at Tiverton on Long Island. This is amazing to me – a church recently gifted to us by the PAOC and a nearby Baptist Church are both pastored by an ordained Wesleyan minister. Both of these small but growing congregations are pictured above. Go Tim and Julie!
Congratulations to Matt and Laura Palmer, staff pastor at Fredericton Journey, on the safe arrival of their fifth child Gwen born on Jan 13th weighing in at 6 lbs 5 ozs.
I was at Maple Ridge yesterday morning to conduct a Town Hall meeting as many questions were being asked about Nick’s resignation and the “what next” questions going forward. He was at the service this morning and did a great job in a child dedication. Very good sermon from Assistant Pastor Mike Agrell and a helpful time in the Town Hall. Please remember the Grahams in prayer as they continue to battle Nick’s really tough physical issues and for the church in this unsettled time. Due to a temp spike, Nick was back in hospital late yesterday afternoon.
A couple of Sundays back, two young men were baptized outdoors at Amherst when the temp was -12. We make ‘em tough in the Maritimes!
Hugh Halter, author of The Tangible Kingdom and several other books, was in Moncton last week for a day-long training on“Re-Thinking Church…. The Way of Incarnational Mission”. There were some 180 leaders present including both Peter and me and several others from our tribe. Thanks to Threshold Ministries who sponsored the event.
Kingswood student Austin White is the happy face in this photo with Prime Minister Trudeau who was in New Brunswick recently.
