It’s Monday Again
Tim Long (Live Well) celebrated the baptism of a Tiverton teen yesterday. The next monthly preview dinner and service was held Saturday in the Tiverton Community Hall with 57 in attendance – about a dozen first-timers. Tim shared, “One lady had attended the First Aid training we sponsored last week and decided to come…years since she’d been to church!” #kingdommultiplication
The Lighthouse (Tim Guptill) had a special guest last Sunday (Richard Pierre of Deep Water). Tim shared, “Pure fire. People lined up and down the center aisle for Pierre to pray with them. Led one man to Jesus. Looking forward to some baptisms in August.”
Rachel (above left) from Woods Harbour (Jason Parker) was baptized yesterday afternoon with around 70 people in attendance. Jason preached the Gospel and at least one person prayed to receive Christ for the first time. After she shared her testimony, Rachel’s father asked if he could be baptized as well!
Framework (Bud Fancy) celebrated 23 first-time decisions for Christ in their children’s ministry last weekend.
This week on Caton’s Island, speaker Kevin Myers (Brazil Lake) sent an exciting midweek report, “Today was a big day at camp: 20 kids this morning at Island Adventure and another 26 kids tonight at Boys Adventure invited Jesus into their hearts for the first time!” #spiritualfoundations
Hope (Joanne Ozon) celebrated two baptisms yesterday. It was an emotional afternoon as a mother and son celebrated this step together in their walk with Christ. Thank you for your continued prayers for Joanne as she is scheduled for surgery on August 6th to remove a stage one cancerous tumor from her spine. #strongertogether
Houlton (Wayne Roberston) kicked off their capital campaign yesterday with Bob Hallett in both morning services. Following a church potluck about 95 attended the Orientation Rally as they prepare to raise the required funds for a significant building upgrade and foyer addition – stay tuned.
Easton (Tony Stevens) had two baptized this week at Riverside Camp. Matt Maxwell (Journey) preached there yesterday (returning after being Lead Pastor for 14 years prior to coming to Fredericton). He is also serving as the Camp Evangelist for Riverside Family Camp this week (pictured below).
Bud Fancy (Framework) serves as Chair of the Riverside Camp Board and reported 14 baptisms at Junior High Camp this week with a total for the summer so far of 19 baptisms. There were 168 total in the three camps before Family Camp. This year had the largest Junior High Camp attendance on record and 95% of campers have already preregistered for next year.
2019 Beulah Family Camp (BFC) sermon videos are now available online. The Ordination Service was one of the highlights of BFC this year as we celebrated a first-ever in our ministerial tribe – honouring a 70-year Ordained Minister, Rev. Arnold Stairs.
And speaking of Ordination, did you know the first two women in the United States and the first three women in Canada were Ordained by what is now The Wesleyan Church? Check out the opening of this sermon (Click HERE for “Women in Ministry”) preached yesterday morning by Denn Guptill (Cornerstone). #raisingleaders
National Superintendent Stephen Elliott continued meetings this week with the National Board in final preparations for the inaugural National Conference of The Wesleyan Church of Canada on August 14-15.
Congratulations to Bradford & Ashlee Rogers (Moncton) on the July 23rd birth of Elliot Joseph weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz.!
