It’s Monday Again
This is the final edition of It’s Monday Again.
It is dedicated to the loving memory of Mrs. Gloria Wilson.
It’s Monday Again was first sent by Dr. HC Wilson as a group email from the desk of the District Superintendent to the pastors of the Atlantic District in 1998. Pastors who did not yet have emails were encouraged to get one and get on board with the times – and the weekly tradition began. Over time, this communication was expanded to include any who would like to receive it. While the core purpose has remained the same as a weekly Atlantic Ministerial Tribe update from the DS, more than 1000 others subscribe as well.
It was a special day to honour an even more special lady. On July 6th, our pastors and many of their family members gathered in strength for the first time since the January 2020 District Ministerial. More than 500 gathered in the Beulah Tabernacle for her Celebration of Life service. And it was a celebration worthy of God’s work in and through the life of Mrs. Gloria Wilson.

Several family members participated in the service, in addition to a Commemorative Letter from the Global Church (Dr. Dennis Jackson) and a warm video greeting from our General Superintendent, Dr. Wayne Schmidt. CLICK HERE to view his comments to Dr. HC & the family. The warmth, humour, love, and care provided by the ministry triad of Rev. John Symonds, Dr. LD Buckingham, & Rev. Steve Bradley was deserving of Glo – not a word spoken was untrue. Her life was fully celebrated and deeply honoured.
It was a powerful moment for Dr HC, Troy, & Kristi as they turned to receive support from the ministers and their family members who were present and asked to stand during my remarks. Thank you for being there for our leader and his family in this important hour of grief.
My favourite post on social media in support to the family was shared by Rev. Tanya Nace, CEO of World Hope International Canada.
- As a young recruiter and leader, I would sometimes feel lonely in large rooms with people I didn’t know (hard to believe, I know!). But guess what? There was one person I always felt drawn to and she was often in the rooms where I felt nervous/apprehensive and she always made me feel loved, seen and encouraged – every time. Gloria Wilson was one of the most amazing women that I have ever known. She was sweet, encouraging and SO FUNNY!!! I loved watching her and H.C. Wilson laugh and look at each other with such adoring love. I will miss her but I am grateful for how she always connected with this young and sometimes nervous leader and how she made everyone around her feel empowered and cared for. So grateful.
God’s help and direction to rebuild His Church out of this pandemic has inspired new ways for new days. The original purpose for It’s Monday Again will still continue on a weekly basis. Those who currently receive It’s Monday Again will remain as subscribers – no action is required on your part. However, after five full years – without missing a single Monday – since my election as your DS in July 2017, the time is now for…
A new name. A new day. A new time.
Stay tuned!
