It's Monday Again
Good Monday afternoon from River Haven. As all of you are aware by now, our planned ministry/vacation trip to New Zealand was canceled due to Gloria’s fall in the jetway at the Halifax airport last Tuesday. She broke the fifth metatarsal bone in her left foot – the same limb that was injured in her fall at Beulah last year. She received excellent care from the emergency medical personnel and at the Cobequid Health Centre. I was back in the office unexpectedly for a couple of days and we have been here at River Haven since Friday for a little healing and R&R. I expect to be back in the office by noon tomorrow.
Yesterday morning, I attended the service here with the Brown’s Flat Fellowship. Pastor Briggs delivered a timely message and I enjoyed the interaction with the congregation.
THIS WEEK: Special pastors’ seminar at the Moncton church – this Thursday, November 2 – 1:00-4:30 PM. Leading A Changing Church In A Changing Culture with Rev. Phil Stevenson, General Director of Evangelism & Church Growth for The Wesleyan Church. This special seminar is being provided by the District at no cost to the pastors attending. No pre-registration is required – simply arrive at the church by the 1:00 PM beginning time. I’m confident many of you plan to be in attendance on November 2.
A couple of weeks ago, I met in Fredericton with a representative of the Provincial Government responsible for funding assistance in wastewater and water quality matters. The absolute necessity of upgrading the wastewater system at Beulah is fully understood with the projected cost in the range of $1.5 million. Even with government assistance – which to date is uncertain, this will be a significant challenge and without government assistance, it poses a very steep mountain to climb. Climb it, we must! When God brings it to mind, please breathe a short and urgent prayer for Divine intervention and wisdom.
IMA is a bit brief this week but our lives have been a bit out of routine for the last few days.
