Hope Wesleyan Welcomes New Members

Hope Wesleyan (Joanne Ozon) welcomed five new Church Members this Sunday to deepen their intentional discipleship journey as reports from Easter weekend continue to trickle in from around the district.

Yarmouth Wesleyan (AJ Plaizier) & South (Thomas Cann) celebrated 14 baptisms on Resurrection Sunday.

  • Hillside (Dave Dixon) had five baptisms with 221 present to witness this public testimony.
Moncton Wesleyan – Special Focus on Healing Sunday

Mike MacNeil (Kings) was invited to preach at Moncton Wesleyan (Jim Clements) on Sunday with a special message on healing. The service concluded with a powerful testimony and opportunity for many to come forward to receive prayer for healing. Jim shared that two dozen children had accepted Christ on Easter Sunday as well as several adults in the main service.

  • It is so encouraging to see the increased days of Kingdom synergy between our church families. Kings (Brent Ingersoll) had 30 decisions for Christ on Easter Sunday and has celebrated 164 baptisms in the last four months – PTL!

Pastoral Transitions

  • Dave (Dawn) Wilcox received a 98% vote following a candidating service this Sunday at The Ridge (Mike Agrell).
  • Amy Taylor candidated on Sunday at CenterPoint Wesleyan (Glen McVicar) and was unanimously elected as Lead Pastor beginning this July at the usual time of pastoral transition. Many would remember Amy Corey from her days as Lead Pastor at Brazil Lake Wesleyan a few years ago. Congratulation to Amy and her husband Travis – welcome back into leadership in our Atlantic Tribe!
  • AJ Thomas (Deep Water) will be joining the pastoral team with Brent Ingersoll at Kings in a part time position beginning this summer.
  • Dave Dixon (Hillside) received a unanimous congregational vote this Sunday for an Extended Call as Lead Pastor.

Sam Reimer’s research into the shifting beliefs of those who identify as evangelical provided key insight into our post-pandemic ministry context. CLICK HERE for Dr. Reimer’s full presentation. Beulah Family Camp – July 6-14, 2024

Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch is offering excellent leadership as plans for Beulah Family Camp are well underway – we look forward to all that God has in store as we gather for this annual highlight of renewal and challenge.

As part of the Meductic Mandate, Pioneer Leader Training is well underway with week 6 of 13 weeks completed. Atlantic District lay leaders Ronald & Suzanne Morneault (Framework), and Tara Lawrence (Woodstock Wesleyan), along with other Wesleyan leaders in North America, are fully committed to developing their networks and neighborhoods for the purpose of sharing the Gospel and making disciples. Co-trainers Jeremy Summers and Tami Mutch-Ketch share excitement about the engagement and call of these individuals to minister to the community and the marketplace. We look forward to future updates of the strategies they are developing for their communities in Maine, New Brunswick, and beyond.

  • If you want to learn more about how Pioneer Leader Training can cultivate high-capacity lay leaders in marketplace disciple-making, please contact Tami Mutch-Ketch at tami@atlanticdistrict.com.

A high quality resource has just been launched as the Wesleyan Diaspora Network (WDN) which is a joint initiative of CMAD and GP. Justin Bradbury (Lead Pastor of Calgary Wesleyan and Regional Director of Western Canada in the Central Canada District) has been working with denominational leaders to prepare this exciting new resource for our pastors and churches.

  • The WDN exists to connect, resource, and equip leaders desiring to love and serve newcomer communities to North America, and to partner with diaspora Christians in disciple-making and church planting efforts.

The WDN seeks to accomplish this by:

  • Creating learning environments for acquiring best practices in diaspora ministry
  • Connecting leaders to coaches and mentors with expertise in diaspora mission
  • Equipping North American leaders to develop Kingdom partnerships with diaspora Christians

The WDN will launch with its first 6-week learning community, commencing April 11 and running until May 16. CLICK HERE for a detailed two-page overview of this 6-week resource.
