A Tragic Day – Lord, Comfort Those Mourning

Countless prayers were offered over the past week as the horrific news of Wednesday’s Lewiston mass shooting spread across the Atlantic region. Thanks to those of you who reached out to those in our churches in Maine to encourage them. CLICK HERE for an opportunity to spend 30 seconds in prayer for those affected by this tragedy.

Tim Conrad Preaches @ South West Nova Unity Service

Tim Conrad (Woods Harbour) preached for the Unity Service in the spirit of John 17:21 at the Stone Church in Clark’s Harbour this weekend with the message that Jesus uses us together to prepare people to experience Him. In addition to two local Baptist congregations, this service also included West Head (Vince Robertson) as the 4th church. An offering was taken for the Centerville Food Bank at Centerville Baptist.

Congratulation to Shea Linton who will be joining the staff of John Lamos (Lighthouse) as Pastor of Next Gen Ministries beginning in January!

  • John shared, “Shea has a deep hunger and desire to see God pour out His Spirit on the next generation here on Grand Manan. We are so excited and expectant in this season as a church!”

Churches around the Atlantic region are reclaiming this season for connection with the families of their communities.

  • Amherst (Evan Oxner) counted 492 kids (approximately 1000 including adults) at the Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday afternoon. Evan shared, “We saw God open doors, build bridges and start conversations. We figure if the enemy wants to get everyone’s attention, we will capitalize on it, hijack it, and use it to glorify God. We are not content to allow the enemy to get any glory any day that the Lord has made.” Preacher’s kids really make the best Minions!

The Reach (Andy Phillips) joined the Jonesport Elementary School again this year for the annual Trunk N Treat. Andy shared, “There were over 160 kids that came through – what a great time to spend with our community (and the candy wasn’t bad either)!”

Super Seniors Friend Day was a success last week at Moncton (Jim Clements) with a record breaking attendance of 148 and all stayed for lunch as well. There was excitement in the air as MW Seniors know how to have fun!

World Hope International (Canada) CEO Tanya Nace convened her Board of Directors last week for a two-day retreat at Silver Lake Wesleyan Camp. Tanya’s leadership was on full display throughout the retreat as she partnered with Board Governance Consultant Heather Card. So many good things happening with our World Hope Team – including a special Zoom visit with new World Hope International (USA) CEO John Claus.
