Baptisms @ Journey on Feb 25th
Journey (Matt Maxwell) has been booming with new faces this winter with several Sundays near or over the 400 barrier. But even more importantly, this has been a season of seeking God and special times of anointing by His presence in the Sunday services. God is at work! The Journey family celebrated six baptisms the end of February with five more already scheduled for Easter – PTL! Every number has a name – every name a transformed life!

Atlantic Church/Pastor Updates:

  • The River Valley LBA has unanimously nominated Darren Clark for congregational vote on March 26th as the next Lead Pastor.
  • Ryan Farrell received a unanimous LBA renewal of his Extended Call as Lead Pastor of Nackawic.
  • By a vote of 94%, John Lamos received an Extended Call on February 25th as Lead Pastor of Lighthouse.
  • By unanimous congregational vote on February 25th, Tim Conrad received an Extended Call as Lead Pastor of Woods Harbour.

Another transition was also announced last Sunday…

  • Moncton Wesleyan shared in a special announcement at the conclusion of Interim Lead Pastor Jim Clements’ (pictured upper right) message on Sunday. CLICK HERE to watch or read the statement announcing that on March 19th a congregational vote will be held for the unanimous LBA nominee as the next Lead Pastor – Jim Clements!

The Moncton family recently responded to the challenge Jim shared to provide compassionate relief through World Hope International (Canada) to help those suffering in Turkey from the earthquake. Jim shared, “The love that flows from the Father, deserves to be shared in relationship, through actions and through generosity to restore the quality of life for someone else by meeting the need for food, the need for medical supplies, the need for humanitarian help. World Hope engaged with partners on the ground to disperse supplies and care for those in most need and invite us to come alongside at a cost of $800 per pallet of supplies. The congregation of Moncton Wesleyan rallied together to help make a difference and ended up covering the cost for 28 pallets, an incredible display of love. God’s Love, in Us, to the World…Because Love Changes Everything!”

Membership Sunday @ Hope
Hope (Joanne Ozon) recently celebrated the right hand of fellowship for 11 new Members of The Wesleyan Church! Joanne shared, “Today I was honored to witness the glory of our Gods movement at Hope Wesleyan Church. The enemy thought he held the victory when the church closed. BUT GOD still held the keys with plan and purpose to bring breath and life back into Hope Wesleyan.”
Hillsiders Mobilized for Outreach
Hillside (Dave Dixon) recently booked a theatre showing of the Jesus Revolutionand challenged the church family to come and invite a friend. Simply through word of mouth five other churches got involved and 180 people showed up!

  • Director of Community Connections Kim Dixon (pictured above with their awesome kids) shared, “Hillsiders loved it and our youth were really impacted. It was such amazing timing as our strategic leadership team is deep into putting our plan together for outreach/vision and we have a big focus on the next generation.”
Kids Ministry is Growing @ West Head
West Head (Vince Robertson) recently hosted 15 kids for a paint night. Assistant Pastor Karen Robertson shared, “We painted snowmen that covered the word ‘sin’ written on the canvas. We learned how Jesus makes us white as snow.”
Brent Ingersoll Honoured for First Decade as Lead Pastor
One week ago approximately 150 pastors from across the Atlantic region gathered in Truro to seek God’s face at the invitation of Brent Ingersoll (Kings). Listen to the impact of this event via a couple of our pastors…

  • Evan Oxner (Amherst) shared, “This was multi-denominational, and we simply gathered to pray together for each other, our churches and for our region. There was a unified spirit of anticipation for God to do incredible things in the Maritimes.”
  • Ken Banks (Blacks Harbour) shared, “The reason for gathering? To seek God’s face. We spent the day singing, confessing and praying over Atlantic Canada. Pray that God would revive the church and awaken those who don’t yet know Him! “

Ken also shared an exciting update as the Blacks Harbour family is rebuilding in this post pandemic season. “Last Sunday, we had 77 people out to church. It was so awesome to see the wonderful amount of kids and families of all ages out to service. For the month just ended (February), we averaged 70 people. In case you were wondering, this is 25 more people than we averaged last February!”

Lower Hainesville Joins Forces in Prayer
Intercessors from The Ridge (Mike Agrell) joined in a special prayer night hosted by Lower Hainesville (Peggy Yetman) to pray for those involved in the Canada Games which included neighbouring Crabbe Mountain as one location. It was a meaningful time of fellowship and most importantly a time of prayer.

  • Special appreciation to Nackawic (Ryan Farrell) for their recent initiative in partnering to provide a significant financial gift to resource the revitalization of our Lower Hainesville family.

Regardless of your age, roles, or how long you have served Jesus, this retreat will enhance your toolkit in how to grow deeper in your walk with Him. He has something He wants to share with you.  “Come Away My Beloved” and hear His voice.

It is my privilege to serve nearly every year as an extension of Global Partnersministry with our leaders in the Wesleyan Standard Church of Egypt. In my time with them last week, our new Superintendent Kamal (upper left) provided excellent leadership in expressing honour and appreciation for Dr. Atef’s (upper right) twelve years as Superintendent from 2010-2022. It is an incredible honour to serve alongside these leaders and all of our pastors and churches who face extreme challenges in ministry.
Ellen joins me in expressing sincere condolences on behalf of the Atlantic District to Auralie Inman and her son Kevin on Friday’s passing of her husband, Gerald Inman. We are grateful for the years of ministry Gerald & Auralie offered in Londonderry, Shelburne, Havelock, & Dalhousie before settling in Hartland.
