Head of Millstream Wesleyan Hosts Christmas Banquet
This Advent season, churches across the region are enjoying a post-pandemic context to return to celebrating Christmas together! On Sunday, Head of Millstream (Kathy Jeffries) held their Christmas Banquet with 33 in attendance. Kathy shared, “We delivered six take out plates plus we delivered supper to Berwick Place which is a Special Care Home in area.”

  • Praise God for the tangible expressions of love poured out in the true spirit of giving that honours the One who gave His only Son!
Wednesday was a huge day of celebration at Kings (Brent Ingersoll)! The denominational restoration process was officially completed for Rev. Bradford Rogers. It was a joy to return his Ordination Certificate on behalf of Dr. Wayne Schmidt and The Wesleyan Church in reinstating his credential as an Ordained Minister of the Gospel.

Bradford and Ashlee are to be commended for their commitment to the journey of healing over these past years as Dr. Steve Elliott ministered as Chair of his Restoration Committee. We are blessed in the sacrificial investment of Kings Church as a critical foundation for the possibility of this new day. Rev. Rogers beautifully led several district guests and Kings staff in receiving the Lord’s Supper as the final step in his journey. This was a day to celebrate Divine grace for God’s glory!

DS Zoom Cluster Receives Wise Cultural Ministry Insights
My “Pastor Cluster” includes monthly meetings with the district superintendents of the northeast. December’s gathering featured CMAD’s Director of Discipleship, Rev. Kim Gladden, to speak into the cultural intelligence needed to best serve the growing ethnic diversity of our context and congregations. We are well served by Kim’s influence at the inner circle of our Church leadership.

  • And speaking of Clusters, Pastor Cluster Leaders will be gathering on Zoom this Wednesday afternoon to review research on stress-resilience in ministry conducted this year by Dr. Charles Stone. This will provide the content for the first three months of Clusters in 2023.

  • Ministry is never easy, but it’s always personal. Those of us who serve and lead the church are on the frontlines of dealing with human brokenness—and we often have scars to prove it. (Hannah King)
  • You have taken account of my miseries; put my tears in your bottle. Are they not in Your book? (King David)
  • Sometimes we bring our lament to a close… sometimes God brings it to a close for us. (AJ Plaizier)
  • You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. (Isaiah)
