Atlantic Connexion

A new Kingdom location was birthed this Sunday! Kings – St. Stephen launched at the High School with a little over 200 people in attendance. Best of all – there were four salvations! It was an incredible day of new beginnings.

  • Lead Location Pastor Pete Stubbs shared, “It was amazing – even for the first time we already felt like a family. There was an incredible hunger in the room and God was with us in a powerful way that brought out emotions in many.”

Brent Ingersoll cast a compelling and powerful reminder of the vision, mission and values of Kings – check out Points to Ponder below. This marks the first time ever in the Atlantic region that a church has five locations – PTL!

Fredericton Youth Rally Fills Journey with 310 Students
The first-ever annual Fredericton Youth Rally (The FYR) this weekend had 310 students plus another 50+ youth leaders in attendance. Students encountered God through an incredible time of worship and hearing The Word.

Journey Next Gen Pastor Luke Budreau shared, “This wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership and leadership of Aaron Hopkins (Corbett), Kenzie Schulz (Crosspoint), and Nikki Leftley (Brunswick Street Baptist). A real showing of collaboration across our city to build THE KINGDOM.”

Combined Youth Retreat on Grand Manan this Weekend
Woodstock (Ryan Genereaux), Lighthouse (Adam DeMerchant), and The Ridge(Honey-Lee Beaulieu) held a combined spiritual retreat called Anchor Weekend on Grand Manan. This group pic was captured at Swallowtail Lighthouse. It includes 57 students and 14 leaders who travelled to the island for two days to take some time away to focus on God and start the school year off right. Ryan shared, “It was really awesome to work together and plans are in the works to do something again next year.”
Kingswood University Praxis Team @ The Bowery Mission
Kingswood students get to serve in so many ways all over the world! CLICK HEREto check out the variety of ministry opportunities they engaged during their recent week in New York City.
A team from Kings (Brent Ingersoll) recently returned from a short-term mission trip to Guatemala. Working with Impacto Ministry, the team participated in a Vacation Bible School, served with Impacto’s Happy Tummies food program, washed the feet of seniors, and conducted visits to several homes in the region. They also prayed with and ministered to many pastors. Greg Hanson shared, “It was exciting to see how God used them, and even more exciting to see how He worked within the team members.”
World Hope Canada Board of Directors
The World Hope International (Canada) board convened in Ottawa this week to hear how God is working around the world. The Atlantic and Central districts continue to be passionate about and support life transformation projects in some of the hardest places on earth. The board enjoyed hearing from Tae Symons about our new global strategy, Heather Card who helped us flex our governance muscles and hearing a great report from CEO Tanya Nace. Good days are ahead!

  • The Church exists to equip the saints and engage seekers. We don’t exist to entertain spectators.
  • I am not me without you. We are living stones doing the hard work of being built together. We are a community in Jesus. Christianity is a communal faith. #ourFather
  • You can’t follow Jesus and stay the same. We embrace the good weird of heaven. Transformation is the expectation.
Thanks to all those who joined on Friday at Browns Flat Fellowship (Jay & Sharon Guptill) with the family of Mrs. Patsy Bagley. It was a service worthy of this cherished Kingdom servant – especially in the beautiful words prepared for the eulogy by her son, Bob Bagley.

Ellen joins me in expressing heartfelt condolences to Greg & Shera Hanson (Kings) and the extended family on Friday’s passing of his mother, Lynette. CLICK HERE for her obituary with opportunity to post your condolences for the family.

Visitation is on Wednesday at Bishops Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Her Celebration of Life will be at Journey Church on Thursday @ 11:00 a.m. with reception to follow.

Abuse Prevention Ministry Training – Two Options

The national office of The Wesleyan Church of Canada is pleased to announce an “Abuse Prevention” webinar in partnership with the organization Plan to Protect. The live webinar will take place on two Saturdays – October 15th & 29th from 10:00 a.m. to noon Eastern Standard Time (11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Atlantic Time). These are identical live presentations so participants only need to choose to attend one of the two events.

All pastors, leaders of specialized ministries, board members, and/or lay ministry leaders who work with children, teens or the vulnerable are welcomed and highly encouraged to attend. Cost is $5/person and is made payable to your local church, which will forward the registration fee to the national office. Join us as we proactively take steps to reduce the likelihood that any form of abuse would tragically happen in or through the ministries of our local churches, camping/retreat ministries, counseling centres, chaplain ministries, global ministry settings, etc.

Click on the QR codes above to register, and then submit the $5 fee to your local church treasurer and ask them to forward this payment to our national office. You may also register by clicking to select the link for your preferred date of participation:
