River Valley Wesleyan (Darren Clark) has baptized 5 people on three of the Sundays in the last 4 weeks – PTL! Darren shared, “And there are more to come within the next few weeks. These two were impacted by Caton’s Island quite significantly and wanted to wear their Caton’s shirts.”

  • A recent message from Dr. Steve DeNeff (Something Bigger Than Itself) provides a challenging call to invest in rebuilding the House of the Lord. CLICK HERE to be reminded how the assignment God entrusted to Nehemiah is still our shared mission today!

Exciting plans are underway for a three-day deep dive during Beulah Family Camp to call up lay leadership to marketplace disciple-making as we rebuild the House of the Lord in our communities, not just our churches! Stay tuned for more details in the New Year.

Journey (Matt Maxwell) joined churches across our region by including a Remembrance Day (Veterans Day) highlight in their primary worship services. The sanctuary prayer wall (see top picture) will soon have five flags added to total 43 different countries of people who regularly worship with their Journey family. Attendance this fall has been over 500 nearly every Sunday as this season of growth includes effectively connecting with new Canadians.

  • A special new ministry was announced using Wordly.AI so that those being discipled with the Sunday message can hear it in their own language simultaneously in the service – an incredible way to leverage technology for the Kingdom!

Outreach Pastor Scott Wood preached an on-point message about the Good Samaritan and Matthew 25 with a powerful illustration about the way God worked this fall to bring a family in crisis out of danger to the protection of Canada as refugees who just arrived in Fredericton in October.

  • CLICK HERE to take 10 minutes to hear their story – it is a powerful testimony of how God works when we give Him what we have and pray for His miraculous provision! God’s glory is shining brightly in this exciting season of Kingdom impact through the Journey family.
Fall DBA Session

Another full day of business was invested this past Thursday with wisdom and discernment in the fall session of the Atlantic District Board of Administration. Lead Pastors will be receiving an email this week with an important update. Business included an encouraging update from District Multiplication Director Scott Prime and Jim Clements regarding the launch of a third location in Shediac by the Tidal Multiplication Network.

  • The DBA also approved an updated plan for the new Admin/Medic Building on Caton’s Island which has already begun construction (pictured above). Contact Director Dean Stephenson for more information about how you and/or your church can partner with this critical project in 2025.
Lily Has A New Ride!

Meet Lily.

She is just one of the impressive leaders of The Wesleyan Church of Bangladesh. Cornerstone Wesleyan (Denn Guptill) stepped up earlier this year to upgrade Lily’s bicycle which she was using to travel dozens of kilometres each day with the early childhood education ministry the Church provides in the region. CLICK HERE to read more about what just a few dollars in global partnership can do!

  • As District Director of Global Partners Denn Guptill continues to recruit and prepare to lead another team to return in February 2026, we have received word about an excellent Christmas Project you and your church family may consider a worthy partnership for the season of giving ahead.
  • CLICK HERE for all the details of Christmas Celebration Project – 2024!

National Superintendent George Bose shared, “Your support will be a great blessing to our church members, community and ministry. We know that the total estimated budget for Christmas Celebration 2024 of $4,450 USD sounds like a huge amount but to God, it is nothing but a number. We believe Almighty God will provide all our needs in His time. We are praying and giving the projects to His hand and also believe that according to His will, we will be able to extend our hands and bring smiles, joy and happiness to many people who have never experienced the Love of God in such a way.”

Firebrand Articles
  • The recent offering of Firebrand Articles provides helpful discipleship insights for understanding and teaching our message of holiness and sanctification in the face of the cultural challenges of our times.

And if you’re in the zone to reconnect with the spiritual heritage of John Wesley, check out these pics in a recent trip by Greg & Shera Hanson (Kings) for an Alpha Conference in London – thanks Greg!

Caton’s Island had a key spiritual impact on the two young ladies featured in the baptisms above. This past Wednesday, Executive Director Tami Mutch-Ketch convened the Caton’s Island Session of the Camp Board for our fall meeting. We celebrated that the summer of 2024 topped 2000+ campers for the first time in the 39 camp seasons we have stewarded this amazing Kingdom resource – PTL!

  • We were blessed to be hosted at Hope City Church in Fredericton at the invitation of Board Member Kelly Dobson who serves there as Children’s Pastor – thanks Kelly! Our meeting included a highlight visit from Lead Pastor Justin Beesley with an opportunity to have prayer together for the continued Kingdom partnership we share in our region.

The bottom picture was taken on Saturday at the wedding featured in the next item as the groom (Josh) has served for the past five summers on Caton’s Island. All those who are current and former staff who attended this happy event, gathered together for a group pic with Director Dean & Carol Stephenson – what a crew!

Congratulations to Josh & Madi Forbes (Kings) on their marriage this Saturday in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia!

  • God loves to use people who don’t have it all figured out. (Scott Wood)
  • ‘Holy solitaries’ is a phrase no more consistent with the gospel than holy adulterers. The gospel of Christ knows of no religion but social, no holiness but social holiness. (John Wesley)
  • Persecution never kills the church, but a compromised gospel will. They [martyrs] lived to be forgotten so Christ would be remembered. (Patrick Fung) #internationaldayofprayerforthepersecutedchurch

The Board of Trustees for Kingswood University convened in October with a special time of prayer for President Steve & Eileen Lennox as they prepare to enter retirement on June 30, 2025. A significant portion of our fall session involved the composition and approval of the necessary guiding documentation prescribed by our Presidential Succession Plan.

Our Christian Alternative for MAiD
  • Dying with Christ – Living with Hope presents a hope-filled perspective on a universal experience. The discussion, led by theologians and healthcare professionals, will give timeless perspectives on suffering, grief, dying, our duty to care, and how dying with Christ is attainable for everyone.

CMDA Canada is offering the opportunity to take Dying with Christ – Living with Hope with our team online. In addition to experiencing this life changing course, attending these sessions will equip you to run this program in your own local settings (i.e. church, community centre, or online venues). Each session will run for 2 hours with time for the video, reflection, and small group discussion.
