Atlantic Connexion

Our first-ever combined District Ministerial with the PAOC Maritimes District is now in the history books – what a week as more than 220 ministers and spouses (including kids and workers) gathered in Moncton! The opportunities to build new relationship and renew old ones combined with shared times of worship and meals provided a rich context for the Soul Care teaching offered by Dr. Rob Reimer.

  • Special thanks to DS Kevin Johnson and all those on both of our teams that cared for the myriad of logistics to make this three-day spiritual conference a reality. We even enjoyed a Superintendent Showdown – hahaha (thanks to Jeremy MacDonald and Jim Molloy).

The seven facets of Soul Care truth probed deeply as the Spirit was at work to transform our hearts and renew our minds. The triad discussions provided opportunities for personal application and processing. Thanks be to God for the good gifts He bestowed on His children this week!

It was a great Sunday on The Ridge as Dave (Dawn) Wilcox was installed as Lead Pastor. Vice-Chair Brent McIntosh provided a gift of appreciation (bottom pic) to each of the pastoral team (including Children’s Pastor Josh Hopkins & Youth Pastor Honey-Lee Beaulieu) during the service as part of Pastor Appreciation Month. Thanks to all who have made extra effort to love on their pastors – as Pastor B likes to say, “No one ever died from too much encouragement!”

  • This past Sunday marked the conclusion of service Luc & Sherry Reed at Crystal Wesleyan. Welcome to new Lead Pastor James Bechdol as he begins serving this coming weekend after moving from Indiana. Welcome to our Atlantic Tribe!
Tidal Multiplication Network

During our Soul Care Conference, Jim Clements convened the Tidal Multiplication Network. Both Perth Andover Wesleyan (David Hartlen) and Trinity Wesleyan (Joel Bridges) have joined (by respective LBA votes) with Tidal Church to partner in ministry with the ongoing launch of new Kingdom locations targeting Acadian communities in New Brunswick.

Atlantic Church Multiplication Director Scott Prime joined as well with Tidal’s two Campus Pastors Austin White & Samuel Prime. The Tidal Multiplication Network warmly welcomes partnership with churches looking to join in this exciting multi-site vision!

Perth Andover Wesleyan – Trunk-or-Treat

Perth Andover Wesleyan (David Hartlen) connected with the community this Saturday with Trunk-or-Treat ’24. Dave shared, “345 people attended, 24 volunteers served, 14 trunks emptied an undisclosed amount of candy that we’re just not going to talk about – hahaha – Thanks for being a part of showing Jesus’ love to our community!”

The Reach Wesleyan – Trunk-n-Treat

The Reach Wesleyan (Andy Phillips) joined with Jonesport Elementary for Trunk N Treat this weekend. Andy shared, “We had 175 kids and had a great time!”

The River (Mark Soone) hosted their annual Trunk-or-Treat with about 400 kids. Mark shared, “We were able to connect with so many families and invite them to some special children’s activities we have coming up! One of the quotes from a first time participant, ‘The smiles and laughs were worth a million candy bars!'”

On Friday, CEO Tanya Nace convened the World Hope International (Canada) Board of Directors which was skillfully Chaired by DS Eric Hallett. The meeting included a very special guest for the day with a highlight presentation by President & CEO John D. Clause of World Hope International (USA).

  • CLICK HERE to enjoy Tanya’s FB post with highlights of our time together including a lovely evening meal at the home of Kevin & Barb Campbell. We were also pleased to welcome two first-time members to the board – Edward Rajaratnam (Toronto, ON) & Bryan Wiens (Halifax, NS)!
Getting to Know the Dixons!

  • The glory of God is the human person fully alive. (Irenaeus)
  • Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. (C.S. Lewis)

The Board of Trustees for Kingswood University convened in October with a special time of prayer for President Steve & Eileen Lennox as they prepare to enter retirement on June 30, 2025. A significant portion of our fall session involved the composition and approval of the necessary guiding documentation prescribed by our Presidential Succession Plan.

Our Christian Alternative for MAiD
  • Dying with Christ – Living with Hope presents a hope-filled perspective on a universal experience. The discussion, led by theologians and healthcare professionals, will give timeless perspectives on suffering, grief, dying, our duty to care, and how dying with Christ is attainable for everyone.

CMDA Canada is offering the opportunity to take Dying with Christ – Living with Hope with our team online. In addition to experiencing this life changing course, attending these sessions will equip you to run this program in your own local settings (i.e. church, community centre, or online venues).
