It’s Monday Again

New Pastor Orientation began on Wednesday with a barge ride and a tour of Caton’s Island for 21 newly credentialed and/or appointed pastors (including several spouses and children). This group of 40+ was given first-class treatment by our Executive Administrator, Karrilee Bremner and her team. The two-day event included sessions with myself, Assistant DS – AJ Plaizier (Yarmouth), and District Treasurer / DDGP – Denn Guptill (Cornerstone). We are blessed to have this high-calibre cadre joining the leadership corps of the Atlantic District.

  • As fall schedules kick in this week, make sure your seniors group registers for the JOY (Just Older Youth) Weekend on September 28-30 (details below).
  • Brock MacDonald began this week as Pastor of Children & Spiritual Formation at Sussex (Jim Agrell).

  • This week provided another excellent opportunity to interact with several other DS leaders and our General Superintendent.

  • Remember Global Partners Missionary Nurse Instructor Dawn Wheaton  in prayer as she returned to Haiti this week. She will be serving with 72 nursing students and be teaching three courses at the Wesleyan University. This December will see the first 22 graduates of this program.

  • The Hayes family and other Global Partners leaders from the Atlantic District are just settling back into life after meeting in Budapest for a three-area retreat. Pictured with Peter and Cathy are Mary Beth Bagley, Robin White, Alan and Sherry Stevens and Keith Allison (Missions Pastor at Victory Highway). The Hayes report, “It was a great time connecting with old and new friends and hearing from God through our speaker Wayne Schmidt. Our kids had an awesome time with the crew from the states, they really loved on them and reminded them how important they are in this journey.”

  • Dr. HC Wilson preached a convicting and passionate message to an excellent crowd yesterday morning at the Beulah Tabernacle focusing on the Exploration Essentials (Atlantic District Core Values). This was the final Summer Weekend service at Beulah Camp.

Congratulations to Parker & Julia Davis (Presque Isle) on their wedding yesterday afternoon!

Our sincere condolences are offered to Brian Murray and his family on the passing of his dear wife, Darlene, yesterday afternoon. Funeral details will be sent to our ministerial tribe as they are finalized.

Thot: Foundation building is not an occupation – it is preparation. (HC Wilson) #spiritualfoundations
