It's Monday Again

Good Sunday morning!  I am leaving later this morning to fly to Indianapolis for the semi-annual meetings of the Wesleyan Educational Council which begins tomorrow morning followed by the General Board and related committee meetings.  I expect to be home late Wednesday evening and will have my laptop with me throughout the week.  I can also be reached most of the time on my cell phone as necessary.
Church Health Profile now available online.  The Department of E&CG now has the Church Health Profile online at no cost to participating churches.  Pastors, I encourage you to make use of this excellent resource which you may access as follows:
1.  Go to the website   http://www.churchhealthprofile.com
2.  You will need to sign up in order to create a master church account.
3.  When asked for the coupon code, enter   WESLEYAN.
4.  Once your master account has been created, you will receive an email that will contain your church survey code.
5.  You will need to provide this code and site address to any member of the church taking the survey.
6.  The site is self-explanatory and should be easy to follow.
7.  If you need additional assistance, you may contact Traver Butcher at  butchert@wesleyan.org  or  317-774-3900.
Scarborough-Coastal (Dwayne Hopkins) is leading a team of 18 from his church on a mission trip to Guatemala.  They departed yesterday, November 11th, and will be involved in ministry there for about one week.
The World Hope Canada Board met again this week as we continue the search/selection process for a new Executive Director for World Hope Canada.  Your prayer support for this ongoing significant process would be appreciated.
Pastors – There will be a District Pastors’ Prayer & Fast Retreat at Beulah on February 27 & 28, 2007.  More details later.
The Alpha program will be holding an Atlantic Road Trip in January with events in St. John’s, Moncton, Charlottetown, Truro, and Halifax.   These sessions will provide training in the areas of Youth Alpha, Alpha for Prisons and Caring for Ex-offenders, Alpha in the Workplace, and the Marriage Course.  These sessions will be held the week of January 15th.  If you have further interest, please go to  http://www.alphacanada.org/conferences
Special Note to Retired Ministers:  Please be watching for a letter in the mail from me to all retired ministers of the District as we reactivate Covenant Intercessors.  Your prayer support for special request items has been deeply appreciated in the past and I am soliciting your support for a number of very specific items – please watch for the letter.
SpringLife – The HQ departments of Spiritual Formation and Evangelism & Church Growth are combining efforts on SpringLife.  Maximizing the potential and spiritual impact of the Lent season, SpringLife will be shipped free-of-charge to every Wesleyan church in early ’07.  Its target focus dates are March 4-April 29.
Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to spend a 2-hour class period with the Pastoral Ministries Class at Bethany.  There were 27 students in the class and I enjoyed the interaction with the leaders of tomorrow.
THOT:  Level 5 leaders are ambitious first and foremost for the cause, the movement, the mission, the work – not themselves, and they have the will to do whatever it takes (whatever it takes) to make good on that ambition.  –  Jim Collins, Good to Great
